Gelflings, Mystics and Skesis return!

There are not many movies I really remember watching as a child, but those I do remember, I do my best to share with my children. One such movie was The Dark Crystal. I'm quite pleased that my children share my enjoyment of the movie and now I'm even more please to be able to share the sequel with them. The Power of the Dark Crystal is set to be released in Spring of 2008. Jen and Kira return, along with the Mystics and the Skesis, but the story is set many years later.

From Wikipedia.org Veteran animator Genndy Tartakovsky (creator of Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack) will direct and produce the movie through the Orphanage Animation Studios. The film will incorporate CGI backgrounds with animatronic puppets. Fantasy artist Brian Froud, designer of the first film, will return to design the creatures and characters. The original screenplay by David Odell (the original Dark Crystal, The Muppet Show)and Annette Duffy is set many years after the events of the first movie.
