April Contest

191 XP

After counting all the entries and putting them into a fabulous random number generator, the winner of the April contest has been determined. Courtney is the winner, and she will receive a $30 gift certificate to DriveThruRPG! Congratulations, Courtney!

Congrats again to Sephera for winning the March contest! After the response to the March contest, we are going to run another contest for the month of April! Last month's contest focused on XP, and this month's contest is going to focus on voting.

Each time you vote on a story or forum post from April 1, 2007, through April 30, 2007, you will get one entry into the drawing for this month's prize; votes on Comments do NOT count. So if you vote for 20 items, you will get 20 entries; if you vote for 40 items, you get 40 entries. This goes whether you give something a + or a - vote. This month's prize is a $30 gift certificate from DriveThruRPG!

Voting
When you are logged into your account, you should see little +/- boxes next to the top of each article similar to the circled box below.

To vote something up, click on the plus symbol. The page may take a second or two, but it will then show the plus symbol as green to indicate your vote. You can change your vote by clicking on the other symbol, but this still only counts as one vote.

Why is voting important?
Voting determines what stories show up on the home page. Only the five stories with the highest score (minuses subtract from pluses) are displayed on the home page. The home checks about every 5 to 10 minutes to see if the items need to be changed. This means YOU help make Gamer Chicks Rule a great site for the female gaming community! Don't forget that you can vote on your own posts, so there's incentive to post new stories so you can get more entries for the drawing.

General contest rules
You can only win one contest every six months. That is per user, not per household. So if you have family or roommates involved in the site, they can win, too. Anyone under 18 years of age who wins a contest must have a parent or legal guardian submit their personal information to us in order to receive their prize.

Good luck!
