Blog development and events status update

It wasn't until I was looking for a component to enable blogs that I realized that the software we use to build the site already had a blog module in the core components. So I enabled it, tweaked some of the settings, and here we are.

The event module was not as smooth. I have one running that the administrators can access, but there are some issues with the display of items. It'll take a bit more testing and tweaking before it's ready for prime time.
