Two suggestions:
- Add "Art" as one of the major categories along with games, movies, literature, forums, events
- move the "Create content" link out of the middle of list to somewhere more prominent. For that matter, separate all the content categories from the "administrative" commands (everything from "create content" down)
Even a general ART section
Even a general ART section is better than none!
During March, I wanted to post up stuff about my favorite artist, and ask who made the "Fave list" of other people, but had no place to put the entry.
The issue with posting art
The issue with posting art from other people is copyright. I'd prefer to avoid copyright issues if we can, but I also want to find a way to support the type of discussion you want to have. I'll talk with ShoshieB1 over the next week, and we'll see if we can come up with some sort of solution. If you have ideas though, definitely post them!
Hm ... well I can understand
Hm ... well I can understand the reasons. I had no intention of posting any of the actual artwork here, just links to her website. But, it really is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to things like copyright.
Navigation updated
I had been planning the navigation changes for a while and started some of the cleanup a week or two ago. I went ahead and finished the rest of the reorganization tonight.
For art, what would you envision in that section?
Art & Music
Perhaps this would be a better (larger) grouping. I was just noting that we have places to put stories/opinions/discussion about Movies, Games, Literature and Events but no home for art or music.
The other day when I was posting about Sephera wanting NeNe Thomas themed checks I didn't really know where it would go....had there been an art section, I would have put it there.
I could see potential for discussion about favorite artists, paintings, sketches, charater portraits, etc. After all we all have our favorties...just like we have favorite movies, literature, and games.
