Spider-Man 3 **possible spoilers**

I'll try to be careful about spoilers - for those who haven't seen it yet.

We went and saw this one on it's midnight showing. I came out of the theatre frustrated, but that was mostly because the auditorium was full and the crowd was rowdy. A lot of laughing, badgering, and phone conversations going on. I guess not all midnight-showing experiences can be good ones

Anyway, the movie was decent. I can't say that it was "GREAT!" this time, simply because I felt that the story was weak. To anyone who's asked me about it, I've said, "The action was awesome, but the story could have been much better."

The relationship between Peter and MJ comes across as stale and forced. Peter is just plain clueless when it comes to MJ. It's not a surprise that she's begun to feel alienated ... I mean, who can compete with his EGO!? Sheesh.

A meteorite conveniently strikes earth only yards away from where Peter and MJ are on a date, which conveniently allows for the symbiote goo to hitch a ride back to the city. Peter attempts to propose to MJ ... by dominating the conversation and talking about himself ... but fails miserably. After the symbiote makes Peter a bonafide jerk, it's not a surprise that MJ finds solace elsewhere.

One of the best parts of the movie (aside from the action shots, of course) was the little disco montage in the middle of the movie, where Peter's under the influence of the symbiote. A ruffle of the hair, and a new confident spring in his step makes him a much more interesting person to watch! I liked the visual effects. Sandman was pretty darn cool, in my opinion. Harry's fight with Spiderman nearly made me motion sick, but awesome to watch.

Eddy Brock gladly accepts the power provided by the symbiote and convinces Sandman to help him kill Spiderman. And of course, as has been the case with both the other movies ... what is up with them killing off the villains at the end of the movie?? Sheesh!

My official vote would be a 6 out of 10 (with 10 been the best).
