Has anyone tried it yet? I just picked up a copy of it yesterday, so haven't had a chance to play yet. I like the box design. It's not just a big empty box holding a deck of cards, it's a carrying case for the game, and it's designed with the game play instructions right on the box.
Here's what the Privateer Press website says:
Infernal Contraption

Two-player
We've played 3 or 4 games of two-player, and it still plays in about an hour or so which is pretty good. It takes about 2 or 3 games before you start seeing the combinations that are good, and the cards that are not quite as good. Cards that let you draw from your own parts pile are not necessarily good because your parts pile is your life. Cards that let you draw from your opponent's parts pile or from the scrap pile are good ones for maintaining cards in your hand. Lastly, be sure that you put any one-shot cards at appropriate places. For example, there's one card that forces your opponent to scrap as many cards from their parts pile as you have in your hand. Something like that you want to have in your machine right after you would draw a lot of cards.
This game is a lot of fun!
This game is a lot of fun! It's nice because each game is different and the luck of the draw may or may not be with you. With a little experience and skill however, you can quickly figure out how to min max your hand into an "Infernal Machine". I think this game is best when played with 4 or more people. Two player games tend to run a bit long. I am happy to say I've played MikeIT a couple times and felt like I could still trounce him. You don't have to memorize a lot of rules and the pictures are pretty cute too.
