New theme almost ready
A new Gamer Chicks Rule theme is almost ready. I will be doing some testing in the next few days as well as making one more major tweak. To me, it is a HUGE step from the existing template. Just in case it isn't though, users will have the choice of using the old theme or the new theme. I know which one I'll be using.
I also want to update the banner images that are used in other sites. They will definitely be dated when the new theme is done and becomes the default. They also do not incorporate the logo now in use.
Jody from Gamer Concepts gets back from DragonCon in the next couple days, and we're excited to see how well the rest of the t-shirts sold. If there are any left, we'll sell them on the site. Otherwise, we might use the profits to do another printing in order to sell them on the site.

T-shirt?
I've been gone too long. This is the first I've heard anything about t-shirts.

We mentioned it a few different places leading up to GenCon, but obviously not strongly enough. Once we find out how many are left and what sizes, I imagine we'll post purchasing info here.

I like the new theme a lot! Well, I like that there is less black staring back at me. Great job!

Keep the chat around. The shout thing is fun for when you've got one or two things to shout out to the community at large, but having a full conversation with several people at once is still much better to do in chat.
Is there any way to cut off the shouts list to a certain number? Right now there are 10 showing up, and it means I have to really scroll down to see the content under it. If we are only showing say 5 shouts at a time (just an example), then is there a way to click on something to show us all the shouts that have been sent since it began? So we're not missing out on the whole conversation, should we choose to shout out a response. Haha.
The right hand sidebar: How tough would it be to make it so we can rearrange the order of those links? I only ask because I'd like mine to show up something like: Home, Create Content, My Blog, My Inbox, My Subscriptions, My Buddylist, Invite friends, My Account, Contact, User List, Users by XP, Log Out. Because the stuff I'd have at the top would be the stuff I'm most interested in using more frequently.
Can we move the Tag Cloud to below the Events listing? maybe even below the DriveThru button?

I think you're right about
I think you're right about the chat. Having both will be useful, I just think we might want to tweak the presentation or something. Maybe just show who is in the chat rather than the most recent messages. The most recent messages was a sort of compromise for what ShoshieB1 and what I thought would work best. Turns out we were both right anyway.
I went ahead and changed the shouts to only show the last 5 to cut down on the scrolling. However, it doesn't look the module includes a way to show everything easily. The data is stored though so I can potentially write a custom page that would show the full history.
For block and link customization, that is definitely something I have been thinking about, especially now that we have a theme that makes better use of the screen real estate. I have to think about the best ways to do that, but I think it is possible to make it easy for users to customize various portions of their page.
I moved the tag cloud down below events. It's mostly a novelty anyway.
Now that we have more space to work with, I think we'll have places to have opportunities to buy GamerChicksRule.com gear. I haven't heard back from Gamer Concepts yet, but I think we'll have sold almost all the t-shirts we originally had made. That just means another print run.
