Coppercon 2007
hello
this is my first blog entry so here goes
coppercon
first day(friday)
i looked around the dealers room and the art show
lots of talented artists
in the phoenix area
i must say!!
while i was perusing the art show i ran into Ken St. Andre
the creator of Tunnels and Trolls
i humbly thanked him for creating the game i enjoy so much.
and then he in turn spoke to me about all the things he has planned for Trollhalla(online gaming site for tunnels and trolls fans)
and what he has been up to as far as writing for T&T and whats going on in the world of trollhalla
i so enjoyed my time spent with Ken St Andre
he invited me to sit in on a panel with Charlaine harris, ken st andre discussing romance in literature
it was intersting to say the least.
not something i would normally sit in on.
but interesting nonetheless.
after that ken introduced me to some of his friends.
after speaking for a while,i decided to call it a nite
Day 2(sat)
i dragged my friend marco to the con.
and we snagged as much free movie swag as possible.
then we headed to a panel discussing what NASA was up to as far as space exploration, colonization and pictures of the planets in our solar system.
after that it was happy hour at the hotel lounge
we then discussed what movies that were coming out and which ones we are going to see.
after happy hour we retired to our room to rest up for the parties that were about to take place.
the parties were well put together appetizers, music and bellydancing...ooh my
so after being social till the wee hours in the morning(3am if my memory serves me correctly)
we crashed out for the nite.
3rd day(sunday)
i really had no plans on doing much this day,
except hassling michael stackpole and ken st andre in the dealers room
for pictures and info on there upcoming books, adventure modules etc..
so i was not surprised when my cell phone rang and one of my friends, who had found out i was in the area.
asked me to stop by and hang out.
so i did, bidding farewell to coppercon
till next year
my overall thoughts
lots of interesting panels, not much gaming
but all in all a good time. well worth the price of admission
