Wanted

Argh!

Hollywood has done it again. I loved Mark Millar's WANTED series. It was a six issue miniseries about a world where the supervillains won. Like it was our world, and they were all behind the scenes, doing terrible things and getting away with it because they owned everything. Darkly humorous, violent and a little scary.

The movie being made so far only bares a vague resemblance to that story. It looks like they are trying to make the main character a good guy. Maybe the preview is just being clever, and underneath the shiny surface the real story is still there. But I've seen The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, so I doubt it.

It will probably be a decent movie. Good cast, excellent director (He did Night watch, which I love), but not a good adaptation. That makes me sad, movies keep taking the teeth out of the best comic and graphic novel stories.
