Gary Gygax has reportedly died

Gary Gygax has died. When I think about how different my life would be without the hobby he launched, it makes this news very sad.

From Troll Lord Games:
It is almost too much to get my mind about. But I've just had news that our dear Dungeon Master has passed away. Ernie called this morning, he thought we should let the fans know. He's just sent an email out.
Gary was in his home when he gathered himself up to cross the great divide.
He was a very dear friend of mine. And I will miss him so.
God Speed My Friend.

I'm totally teary eyed.
Yes, it's true. Our beloved GM has passed away. I only live an hour or so away from Lake Geneva, and everyone is talking about it here. I was going to post this myself, but it looks like I've been beaten to the punch. I've never met Gary, but if it weren't for him, I wouldn't have made all the wonderful friends I have. He will be sorely missed. I ran across this quote on one of the many sites that are reporting this, and it just feels so right.
All fellow geeks everywhere should observe 1d4+1 moments of silence.
