Board game geeks R us

We had 8 for most of the night and it was a lot of fun. I'm still the only girl - but the guys are good guys so it works out. Still, more girls would be fun! I never win - which really sucks - but I have a blast.

We played a game that was pretty much new to all of us called Agricola that's really I'd say reminds me of Harvest Moon on speed. It's you and the wife on a farm and I want to say you play for 7 years, but that might be off. You really want to diversify, but you're competing for crops, materials, animals, and even the ability to make more kids to help you on the farm. Took us about 2 hours which included the explanation. I think it worked as well as it did because our fearless leader took the time to play it out a bit solo first to become versed in the how-tos. AND we chose the family style version which is MUCH less complex. Trust me, the first time(s) through - it's a really good idea to do this. Seriously though, very cool game. I'd like to play again. I'd love to own it.
