Zombies!!!

I asked a few days ago about board games for kids, and I didn't even talk about one that works well with our 7-year old. Zombies!!! Zombies is a game where the players are people trying to find the helicopter pad to escape their zombie-infested city.
Each player's turn involves drawing a map tile, connecting it to the other map tiles on the board, populating it with zombies, moving, fighting, and lastly moving zombies. There are special cards that can be played to make for some surprise actions, but we don't use them yet since they can be a little complex in use for a 7-year old. We have a good time as a family for now playing without the special cards. We also give everyone a chance to reach the helicopter once one person reaches it. I mean, I would at LEAST wait a minute or two before giving up hope on my wife and daughter in the zombie-infested city.
For adults, the game has some issues out of the box so we play with a couple house rules. First, when you move, you add your unused "life" tokens to increase your speed. Rolling a 1 when you really want to go at least 3 can make for a pretty frustrating game. With this change made, players zip around the map much more quickly than by the normal rules.
There are multiple expansions for this game including one in a mall and another on an army base so that the complete zombie movie genre can be completed.

hehe
That sounds fun! We sometimes sit around and discuss what music we would like to be listening to whilst running over zombies with (insert favorite zombie killing vehicle). How infinitely amusing zombies are!
