Voting
When you are logged into your account, you should see little +/- boxes next to the top of each article similar to the circled box below.
To vote something up, click on the plus symbol. The page may take a second or two, but it will then show the plus symbol as green to indicate your vote. You can change your vote by clicking on the other symbol, but this still only counts as one vote.
Why is voting important?
Voting determines what stories show up on the home page. Only the five stories with the highest score (minuses subtract from pluses) are displayed on the home page. The home checks about every 5 to 10 minutes to see if the items need to be changed. This means YOU help make Gamer Chicks Rule a great site for the female gaming community!
Voting turned off?
Um, the little plus minus sign box isn't showing up anymore. Where did it go?
My bad
It's fixed now. I got the options mixed up for turning off seeing who voted on specific items. We meant to have that information hidden so specific votes could be anonymous when we went live, but I discovered the other day that I had it mixed up.
I tested it out with a test user account, and everything appears back in order so you can vote.
Yay! We can vote again! oh
Yay! We can vote again!
oh and ps) I love that the voting is anonymous now! bwahaha
Great Question!
See that little + and - by at the top of your post? That's your voting button. Click on either one to vote a story up or down. Voting + gives the person XP and pushes their story to the homepage (where more people will see it) Voting - doesn't take away XP but pushes the story down and is less likely to get seen therefor less likely to get voted on. Btw you can vote for yourself too!
Hope that helps.
