Introducing gaming

So after reading some reviews of Carcassonne: Hunters & Gatherers, I went down to the friendly local game store to order it. After playing a few times with my 7-year old daughter, I thought I'd post a review from a new gamer chick perspective. Overall, I think it gets a A- for playing with her so far.

Since I'm the resident D&D expert between ShoshieB1 and me, I told her I would run a session at GenCon to introduce D&D to women and girls. I've got ideas brewing, but this site is a great resource for honing and building ideas from the community on what would be good.

My daughter's Brownie troop is pretty progressive, and it sounds like the leader is interested in having the girls try out an RPG. Faery's Tale from Firefly Games is probably a good introductory game to see what the girls think of role-playing games.
