The new forums are now up for mothers who have time for gaming. This is mostly aimed at Halo3 Gamers, but we are basically goin for all Xbox games too.

ConquestNW is a convention I just found out about, that is taking place just outside of Seattle, WA in Bellevue, WA.

I don't know as much about this convention, except that it is going to have an Indie game lounge going on, run by members of the Story Games board.

GameStorm is a gaming convention in Vancouver, WA (just across the river from Portland, OR). It has 24 hour gaming and programming, and inside of the larger convention has the Indy Games Hurricane, which is devoted to the promotion and playing of Independently produced games.

MikeIT and I just got back tonight from our daughter PhiPhiBabe's school Family Spirit Night. We decided to try and get our school to participate in the Million Minute Family Challenge. I mentioned in a previous post about how we were going to be organizing a game night for the event. I had no idea what I was getting myself into at the time I volunteered us to co-chair a committee. It required organizing, gathering games, and volunteers. We contacted a few game companies and three responded with generous offers of donated games to our school for the fund raiser.

So recently Rin1 and I were musing about how no one ever plays games anymore. At least not of the board game/card game variety of the old days. Back in the day, we used to all huddle in MikeIT's basement for loads of fun playing cutthroat munchkin, intense games of settlers, or a variety of other games. But there hasn't been any of that for a really long time.
