Rating: Way better than most based-on-video-games films.
Important to know: The lead female goes topless in several scenes.
For the Gamer Chicks: The film's director didn't consult much with the game creators. This is a good thing.

Argh!

Hollywood has done it again. I loved Mark Millar's WANTED series. It was a six issue miniseries about a world where the supervillains won. Like it was our world, and they were all behind the scenes, doing terrible things and getting away with it because they owned everything. Darkly humorous, violent and a little scary.

Rating: A is for Awesome, Alice and All I needed to be happy was Milla Jovovich fighting zombie dogs again.
Important to know: Gory" would be rather insufficient. "Violent" is also mild.
For the Gamer Chicks: Alice could kick Lara Croft's ass on a bad day with no Umbrella-induced powers and no guns. We also get some new ladies.

Rating: Fills you with a sense of wonder.
Important to Know: Some nasty deaths, space is not kind to the human body. Also, short moments of intense violence and realistic bloodshed.
For the Gamer Chicks: Evidently this science is the real deal, two solid female characters.

*Fun Fact* something connects this movie to Stardust, props to whoever knows what it is.

Rating: If this movie doesn’t make you smile you have No Soul.
Important to know: Not particularly loyal to the book, but I didn’t mind.
For the Gamer Chicks: Favorite fantasy elements abound, several female characters central to the story.

Rating: It's worth full price on a big screen
Important to know: on the scary side for little kids, all the parts you wish were there will probably be on the DVD
For the Gamer Chicks: A solid adaptation with more complicated female characters than you can shake a stick at.

Rating: M for "More than meets the eye" (yeah, it's gonna be that kind of review)
Important to know: Loud, some shocking but not gruesome death-by-throwing blades, probably not good for little kids
For the Gamer Chicks: If you loved the Transformers when you were younger, you will be thrilled to see them. Three female action movie stereotypes.

We went to the midnight showing of this movie, last night, and it was awesome. I'll admit, I was going to the movie to see action and lots of 'slosions ... oh and Bruce Willis! I was not disappointed.
