She's getting sucked into the gaming world too. ^^ I also know who I am cosplaying as... Lady Tsunade from Naruto! w00t! ^^ Uhm, I'm working on my costume, helping Melissa and will probably help my mom do some of her's. Don't worry, I'm going to be sure and take LOTS of pictures!

Lucasfilm v. Gen Con LLC updates
Submitted by MikeIT on Sat, 02/16/2008 - 19:25.After following the site Groklaw covering the cases of SCO, IBM, RedHat, Novell, and others, I thought I'd try a little bit of amateur coverage of the case between Lucasfilm and Gen Con LLC. I received my PACER information yesterday, and so I'm not able to check the status of the case. There has been a little action in the case that people might want to know about.
EDIT: Apparently Gen Con has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. I was trying to get to their site to see if there was any discussion of the lawsuit, and it's completely down. I found some information at Tabletop Gaming News
The table below shows the filings so far in the Lucasfilm case.

Lucasfilm sues Gen Con
Submitted by MikeIT on Mon, 02/11/2008 - 18:43.There's some big news that just came onto the radar: Lucasfilm is suing Gen Con over issues with Celebration IV! While the case is stamped January 10th, this is the first I've heard anything about it. You can read the full complaint but here are the allegations.

GenCon 2008
Submitted by MikeIT on Mon, 02/04/2008 - 17:23.Badge registration opened yesterday, and housing registration opened about 20 minutes ago. I actually managed to get us a room at the Marriott across the street. Register now! If you were there and attended one of our events, let us know what you thought. I'm still debating whether I want to run anything again. The D&D intro session was a lot of fun to run.

Gencon - What'd everyone do?
Submitted by Tirla on Thu, 08/23/2007 - 16:55.What'd everyone (who went) do at GenCon? Anyone go anywhere else in Indy?
I mainly played boardgames & walked around the dealer hall. Ate at the Ram, but was rather disappointed with their food versus last year. Found out about this site from a Gamer Concepts t-shirt, so that was a good thing.
I've gotta run, but if I can I'll edit this later to list what I actually played & bought.

D&D introduction for women playtest and actual session recap
Submitted by MikeIT on Wed, 08/22/2007 - 17:44.After kicking around multiple ideas on the intro to D&D for women adventure, I finally settled on sticking to something a bit more traditional. In other words, I didn't want to take a lot of time on things that may not be a likely D&D adventure they would play with someone else.

GenCon from the GamerChicksRule-oriented male perspective
Submitted by MikeIT on Mon, 08/20/2007 - 14:44.It was the fastest four days I've experienced in a while, but it was a really good time. This was probably the hardest GenCon to have to leave, and I think that says a lot about the direction of the industry and the potential impact that groups like GamerChicksRule.com can have.
